I had a similar problem when I installed this game on Windows 98, but I seem to remember being able to fix it by installing the newest 4in1 drivers for my motherboard. Once I have gotten a bluescreen (perhaps I should set it so it doesn't automatically restart upon displaying a bluescreen and record the error, but I don't remember how to do that), but usually it just exits to the desktop without displaying any error message at all. After about 5 seconds at the most the game crashes.

When I start the game, it works fine while I'm going through the menus, but when I try to start a new game, it plays the intro movie, and then I'm on the inside of a ship at the beginning of the game. MSFD, 9th edition, still contains a few errors (some inherited from the original Construction Set manual), but is otherwise generally correct and is the most comprehensive guide available. I've updated XP via windows update (I got the patch that says it stops some games from just exiting to windows) and I've patched the game itself to the newest version, but to no avail. This file is hosted at Morrowind Modding History, and is a complete guide to how to write and edit scripts in Morrowind.

I've got the newest drivers for my motherboard (the 4in1's) and the newest Nvidia drivers. I'm running a 1.4 ghz athlon t-bird w/ a GeForce 2 mx. I'm having a problem with Morrowind crashing.
